Happy Easter

HE IS RISEN! Praise the Lord....HE IS RISEN!

We had an unusual Easter....not together as a family and Xan and I at the hospital....but it was good and God was good to us. We are still in Texas helping out and we all went up to the hospital yesterday to celebrate the day with Caed. The entire Everitt family was there with the exception of Stan....that made me sad. We were there for a couple of hours and the kids hunted eggs in Caed's room and Nana read an Easter storybook and then Granddaddy told the Easter story using the Resurrection Eggs. Xan slept thru the stories and could have cared less about the egg hunt. She had spied a gock (chocolate) egg in her basket and that was all she wanted. Caed did ok but didn't get too excited. Lori had talked with me earlier this week and said that visitors-especially children- seemed to do him some good because they brought some life and change into his room. He has now been there 23 days and he is so weary (as are his parents and grandparents) but God continues to move and we are praising Him for that.

Thank you all for your prayers. I know that we are where we need to be and that we are relieving a burden for Lori and Todd (but Xan and I miss Stan terribly so please pray for that specificially too). I have certainly grown attached to little Caleb. He is now 6 weeks old and I've been helping to care for him for almost 1/2 of his life. He is a sweety. Xan and I sleep in his room most nights and take care of the nighttime/early am feedings and it is working great. Reagan has been a trooper too....her whole little world has been rocked and she just goes along with whatever is happening. God is so in the middle of all of this and I'm very thankful.

Again, thanks for all your prayers. Here are a few Easter pics.

This one was from last week..she learned to drive. :)

Update on Caed/ Being in Texas

Well thought I better update on the last post for a prayer request. Xan and I traveled to Texas last Friday, one week ago today, to help care for Caed's siblings and we are still here. Caed is still hospitalized and they haven't discussed a discharge date so we'll be here a while longer. If you'd like to see more of his story go to http://www.curiousaboutcaed.blogspot.com/

On another note, Stan is home without us and we miss him terribly. We've never been apart this long and not seeing Xan daily is not fun for him at all. Here are some pics (mostly for Stan) of us here in Lubbock. She is having fun helping with the baby after only a couple of days of being a little bit jealous.....now she says, "Momma....two babies".

Her cousins Haylee and Reagan (Caed's sister).

Borrowing Reagan's headband and dancing....one of her favorite things to do.

Oh boy....no comment is really adequate for this pic.

Prayer Request

As I type this our nephew Caed is in ICU in Lubbock, Texas. His mom, Lori, is Stan's sister. Anyway-Caed is 4 years old and was rushed into emergency surgery on Saturday where they discovered a twisted small intestine and other problems that had caused his horrible tummy ache earlier that day. He has been in ICU recovering from that 4+ hour surgery until this morning and today they have discovered some problems. I'm not sure about all the details yet but I know that they (and our whole family for that matter) covet your prayers.

Tent Time

We're having fun today playing in a makeshift tent. I wish I could say it was still early morning when I took these but no.....it's after 1pm and we're both still in our pj's and playing babies in the tent.

Random Pics

There is no theme to this group of pics....just some that I've taken over the last couple of weeks that I thought were cute.

Stan got Xan this PGA cap when he was in Florida for the PGA National Show....she likes to wear it and looks extremely cute if I do say so.....(proud mama here). He ain't too shabby either.

Hanging out at the park with her friends Grace and Eva. They all look so thrilled about their mothers posing them for pictures. There was still a lot of playing to do and this was the last thing they wanted to do.

Xan LOVES purses and shoes (good southern girl should don't you agree) and she actually thought she was going to go to church with all of this one Wednesday night. I got to the door and she wanted to take it all. We ended up with only 2 purses making the trip. (Don't you love the smoothie sticking up out of the purse and the baby hanging on for dear life)

She's great kitchen help (wink wink)....I love this apron and she wants it on each time I put mine on.

Sharing a little love with Anna Grace during a playdate.

Greatest Show on Earth

We were very fortunate to be given some tickets to the Ringling Brothers Circus last week (thank you Tom!). These weren't just any tickets.....they were VIP front row on the floor tickets. I mean we were 20 feet from the ring. Xan and I went with Heather and her 3 children and it was a wonderful evening. I had a great time watching my sweet daughter's reactions of sheer wonderment. I was a little nervous about a possible meltdown (being that close to large animals and the show didn't start until 7:30 pm) but NOPE.....our girl made it all night long with a smile to boot! Anyway....here are a few pics for you.

Before the show....at the Ring.

We had talked about seeing the elephants all week.....this was the moment they came out. They were by far her favorite part of the show and she kept asking me for more when they were finished. This was a magical moment for me....just seeing her in awe. God is good!

You can see the girl behind us with the hat on....well Xan talked about that hat the whole show so during intermission I caved in and got her one. They actually came with the cotton candy so I got a treat as well. She LOVED that hat and promptly pulled her bow out and wore it the rest of the night. If I tried to take it off--she put it right back on. Again, so sweet. (Emma is sitting next to Xan, she is Tom & Heather's youngest).

Happy Valentine's Day

Here are a few pics my friend Danielle took of Xan and I to give Stan for Valentine's Day. We had fun.
